For the Love of Cake.

Over the past month, I have had the pleasure of working with three little cake lovers for their Birthday Cake Smash Photography Sessions. All three were held here at the Bayside Studio at 8915 S Burnt Mill Creek Rd in Southport, close to Panama City Beach, FL.  

I have a new-found passion for these Cake Smash Themed Sessions. It is so much fun to see the creative (and messy!) side of these little ones’ personalities. From experience, once little ones realize they have cake in their grasp, capturing photos becomes exciting and unpredictable in the best possible way. The shots are always filled with joy, and the families seem to have as much fun (almost) observing the action. It’s amazing how attentive little ones can be when they are focused on getting cake into their mouths (and of course, all over their faces!)

Graydon just turned one in May. He has a love for the movie UP! (am I the only one who gets teary at this movie?!) The shoot captured the spirit of the movie with primary colored balloons, blue cloudy skies, and a ridiculously cute suspender and bowtie combo! He was the star of the show as he kept his mother and I in stitches. Watching him suck the wads of cake from his cute little fingers made for lots of laughs and great photos. What a success!

Miss Stella also celebrated a May Birthday! Like any sophisticated two-year-old, she loves sprinkles. Her cake was smothered in them, so that was her main focus: to pick each little sprinkle ball off :) She was so serious and meticulous with her cake eating skills, also did I mention completely adorable? The camera loved her beautiful brown eyes!

Cruz celebrated a very grown-up one-and-a-half-year milestone. His mom baked him a delicious looking banana bread cake with a seam foam green icing. It was just right for our session. Cruz clearly appreciates his mamma’s culinary skills too as he immediately dove for the cake, toppled it to the floor, and smashed away. He infectious smile and free- spirit were perfect for the shoot. Lots of fun memories were made and captured for a lifetime. Too cute!
